Nordstrom has finally made its way to Toronto with its first location at the Toronto Eaton Centre & its second store debuting last week in Yorkdale mallโs new expansion wing. After hearing such a buzz about the Nordstrom opening gala at Toronto Eaton center we were elated when our friends at Daniel et Daniel Catering & Events invited us to attend Nordstrom Yorkdale Opening Gala.
An Enchanted Evening at the Design Exchange
The Design Exchange has been ground zero for countless spectacular events over the years. Bursting forth from the former home of the Toronto Stock Exchange, it has been a significant host to Torontoโs event scene for two decades, setting the scene for myriad weddings, corporate events and fundraising galas. The interior of the former Stock Exchange is beautifully dramatic in its own right, but for a yearly recurring event we knew it was essential to provide an element of surprise.
Under The Sea: An Evening at Ripley’s Aquarium
In December, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to create a discovery themed menu for the Grand Opening of Ripleyโs Aquarium Toronto, a new special event space in the heart of downtown Toronto. For this opening, Ripleyโs wanted to make quite a splash on the cityโs event scene (pun intended), so our own senior event planner, Jake Curl and executive chef Karen OโConnor worked together to achieve their vision. They took guests on an exciting journey of discovery through the aquarium space with a menu that took inspiration from the visual cues of each exhibit.
Event in review: Snowball 2013 Chroma at the Mattamy Athletic Centre
On March 23rd, Casey House celebrated their 25th anniversary, marking a quarter of a century of compassionate care for people living with HIV/AIDS. The 300 person event was held at the newly opened Mattamy Athletic Centre at Maple Leaf Gardens where guests dined โon the iceโ within the bounds of the hockey rink. The event dรฉcor, conceptualized and executed by William Fulghum design Associates, was simply out of this world. Suspended oversized balloons added drama and colourful votives and lighting painted the event space in alternating bright hues.
