Daniel et Daniel would not exist without the many talented and creative personalities that make up our company. From our offices to the kitchen, these hardworking individuals devote themselves each day to creating and delivering the best events and food in the city. In an effort to introduce you to some of the many diverse members of the D&D team, I will be presenting a series of interviews with some of our staff here on the blog. To start things off, I sat down with our Vice President, Russell Day, to learn more about his background and thoughts on the industry…
Seasonal Spotlight: New Veggie Entrées
With Daniel et Daniel, vegetarians have never been considered second-class party guests. We take pride in the fact that our vegetarian selections are as lovingly prepared and delicious as the rest of our creations. When it comes to showcasing local seasonal ingredients in our menu, there is no better place than a vegetarian dish where they take centre stage.
Venue Profile: The Carlu
While a mouth-watering menu and stellar service are important elements of any successful event, just as critical in setting the right mood is selection of the perfect venue. In this update, I’ll kick off an ongoing series of profiles on Daniel et Daniel’s favourite and most oft-used Toronto venues with a closer look at The Carlu.
Not all Chardonnays are created equal.
Mixing things up this week, we bring you an entry by one of our Event Planners, Margaret Millar.

Being a Preferred Caterer at so many of the city’s amazing venues makes us a lucky bunch. MaRS Discovery District has always been a big supporter of local and the environmentally aware. MaRS, along with Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery, recently invited all of MaRS’ preferred suppliers to learn more about wine and to sample some of those that Ontario has to offer.
Upon arriving, we were invited into the old farm house on Pelham Road and escorted to the basement wine boutique. Always looking for new wines (and old favourites) to pair with our dishes, our palates were immediately awakened by a glass of Cuvée Catharine Rosé Brut as the difficult task of tasting wines began.
What happens in Vegas…
In continuing with an annual tradition, Daniel et Daniel recently sent top staff from all departments to last month’s CaterSource 2010 Conference and Tradeshow in Las Vegas. Attended by thousands of catering professionals from around the world, the conference gives those present the opportunity to refine their business skills and acquaint themselves with emerging trends in the international catering market.
