There were endless glowing comments from the guests on the hors d'oeuvres (particularly the mini-BLT's which, as you know, were Paul's pick); everyone loved them so we got off to a great start there. And then the main event in the tent. Such glorious food throughout the night. Everything was absolutely perfect; not only was the food beautiful and delicious, but the wait staff were tremendous. They always kept a watchful eye and were attentive to our every request. Thanks too for accommodating my son who decided to stay for dinner after all which was a wonderful surprise for all of us. It was as though our table had always been meant for 11 rather than 10; his setting was added absolutely seamlessly. And needless to say, thanks for coming to our rescue when we were faced with the prospect of no caterer three weeks prior to the wedding. They say everything happens for a reason and in this case, I think it was so that we could get your wonderful service and food and gracious attention to detail. Thanks so much for everything (including moving tables and chairs - above and beyond the call of duty). I definitely know whom I will recommend the next time someone needs a caterer (including me!). Jake, Well when you said I was getting the A-team you weren't kidding. Yesterday was absolutely fabulous and the phone has been ringing off the hook today with friends singing our praises. Jake, I would like to thank you for your assistance in planning my event. It went remarkably well. The food was scrumptious. A friend of mine recently returned from Paris just about fainted in delight at the macaroons. Everyone was very impressed, with few left overs. Hi Melinda, May 2010 Dear Meredith I would like to thank you for your hard work on the Canadian Stage Theatre Ball, ART. Daniel et Daniel provided a premium experience through and through not only for the guests, but also for the Canadian Stage staff working on the event for so many months. The food was absolutly delicious, and the creative touches truly tailored the menu to our theme & company. The guests could not stop talking about the quality of the food and we are absolutely thrilled with the results! Meredith, you were professional and informative during the entire process, and in addition to this you kept a calm disposition in the midst of all the action throughout the evening. Laura, I want to thank you for everything that you did to make our Friday night Partner dinner such a huge success. The evening went so smoothly and I have been swamped with notes of thanks from our partners. They loved the venue, the set up, the food and all the touches that were distinctly yours throughout the space. Your staff were terrific (you are right, they are the A team), the food was delicious and beautiful and your choices with linens, florals candles and design made the room one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. I also want to thank you for your suggestion of your florist who made the evening perfect. Working with you has been a dream and I cannot wait until we do another event together. Hi Robin, We had a great time Saturday night! Everything was perfect from start to finish, and everyone had a fun time. The food was amazing and the servers were working the crowd! The beef tenderloin was perfection. The chefs were really ready for us, and even had two vegetarian plates for two last minute guest preferences. I couldn’t have asked for better service or planning! Dear Ms. Collin; I hope that you will pass along my highest compliments to your chef(s) and catering staff who prepared and served such a stunning buffet for Spirit of Toronto. With the emphasis on the whisky, much of it otherwise inaccessible to many of the attendees, it is very difficult for food choices to compete. In the last two years in particular, although I certainly remember the whiskies I sampled, I find that it is the food that your team has prepared which is the subject of conversation for weeks on end. I recall my partner saying this year, "I hope they bring back those Yorkshire pudding and roast beef cups..." and you most certainly did not disappoint. The pears (poached?) prepared with Goldschlager and served with the warmed brie in phyllo pastry were absolutely brilliant, and the highlight of a wonderful sampling of food to compliment the whiskies. My one regret is that I live in London, Ontario and will have to wait until next year to enjoy your food again. I will definitely recommend you to my friends who live in Toronto and those who are planning an event in Toronto. April 2010
Dear Laura, That lamb absolutely melted in my mouth! It was to die for. The catering of the RCI Gala Dinner held at MaRS on Thursday April 22nd was exceptional. When we asked you to create an elegant “Comfort Food” menu on a limited budget, I was worried that we would sacrifice something. But boy was I wrong. As I watched the service staff collect plates from all three courses, they had been scraped clean. And as the feedback comes in the common theme is how tremendous the food was. Laura, I would like to personally extend my heartfelt thanks for all of the work that you did on this year’s RCI Gala Dinner. I know that Daniel et Daniel have done this event for several years for very little money and the RCI is very appreciative of your support. Despite the lack of remuneration for the Dinner though you worked tirelessly to create the perfect menu, help find ways to keep our budget in line and come up with elegant touches to make the event even better. And for that you will have the RCI’s and my undying support. On behalf of WaterCooler, and my client RCI I would like to thank you and your entire team for making our event such a success. Dear Laura, Boy, do you ever know your food! Laura, Thanks for working with me to produce a stellar event last Wednesday night. I can't tell you how many people raved about the food at the event and the response since then has been incredible. From the begining of our planning stages through budget revisions to the tasting and finally, execution, you have gone out of your way to accommodate us and make our event the best possible. I thought that it would be a challange to create a cocktail menu that showcased Ontario to the guests, was delicious and satisfying, but somehow you managed. You even came up with nifty and novel items like the "Maple Taffy on Show" which was a highlight! While there were a myriad of details and personalities that needed attention, you ensured that they were all looked after. Your chefs were also excellent and charming on site, so please extend my sincerest thanks to them with special mention of Chef Vel, who patiently packed up care packages for me and our clients to take home. There was a Friday evening barbeque in the garden, a lunch before the wedding, a reception at the wedding on Saturday and a brunch on Sunday in the gareden. In the middle of the wedding ceremony there was a tremendous downpour of rain and thunder and all of the guests had to be moved from the lawn to the tent. During all the events the entire staff was incredible, discrete and more than helpful and kind. The decor was beautiful and the food was outstanding. I want to comend to you your wait staff who was unbelievable and your Chef's, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Most of all I want to write to you about Jake Curl. You have a very special employee in this man. We have been working on this event since March. Jake has been enthusiatic and joyful and helpful throughout. He is unfailing in his good cheer and made us feel that the event was special for him also. I felt he was a friend by the end and I will miss our communications. Margaret I just wanted to let you know how very pleased we were with everything at Saturday's party.The food was amazing. The guests all raved about the hors d'oeuvres, the appetizer, the fish and the beef. We recieved so many complimentson the meal that I began to accept the accolades as if I had been the chef! The desert table was a huge hit, however it was the oyster bar that stole the show. The hall looked beautiful and the servers were charming and efficient. a wonderful time was had by all. Daniel, Blakes has been using Daniel et Daniel since 2000 for TIFF-related events and we have found the service to be excellent. Our most recent experience was our 150th Anniversary, which took place at The Carlu on Saturday, May 27,2006. Our Daniel et Daniel represenative Russell Day, handled all details of the event set-up which included inital venue selection, linen choice, wine selection, menu, flowers, entertainment, lighting and beverages.
